Meadowbank Homestead - Awaroa Bay       .  .  .  a very special slice of Abel Tasman Park history

The Wilson family has been associated with the Abel Tasman National Park for five generations since the 1870's.

In 1884, William Hadfield built the original two-storeyed home, "Meadowbank", on the best site in Awaroa Bay. A hundred and ten years later, his great grandaughter and family built this replica homestead on the same site.

The character of Meadowbank has been brought back to life through the extensive use of period windows, doors and timbers, yet all the modern conveniences of today have been included. Eleven comfortable twin rooms with ensuites.

Kanuka Hill Lodge is situated at the Anchorage in the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park. This unique lodge is private and comfortable with stunning sea views and enjoys great sunshine throughout the year.

You can get there by water taxi from either Marahau or Kaiteriteri or you may want to walk the Abel Tasman National Park coastal track from Marahau - 3 hours. Travel from Nelson Airport can be arranged for you.
